Michael Oades - Director
Michael Oades studied architecture at The Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London and at the Kent Institute of Art and Design in Canterbury.
His architectural career began with a two year apprenticeship in Berlin, with Professor Inken Baller and DEGW. On his return to London he worked for Sproson Barrable before joining Foster and Partners in 1996.
Whilst at Foster and Partners Michael Oades worked on numerous projects, including the £15M New Faculty of Management at The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, and a £150M internationally acclaimed research and development centre for a British based Formula 1 team, during which time he was made an associate.
In 2002 Michael joined Ushida Findlay Architects as a senior associate. He was project architect for a number of experimental and prestigious projects, both in the UK and abroad. This includes Villa Concubine, Doha, Qatar, which was exhibited in the 2004 Architecture Biennale in Venice and is currently on site.
In July 2004 Michael Oades founded atomikarchitecture as a vehicle for developing existing, current and new themes in architecture. |
