brief
To design a small observatory for a local astronomy group, within the context of the Kielder Forest Art Project.

concept
We proposed a static vessel, like the ancient Egyptian Mesektet (sky boat) for transporting astronomers to the stars.  The observatory is a horizontal object, rather than the traditional vertical model and is raised above the ground responding to the landscape aspect of the site.
